:  a dementia marked by progressive impairment of intellect and judgment and transitory aphasia, caused by progressive atrophic changes of the cerebral cortex, and usually commencing in late middle age

Biographical Note for PICK'S DISEASE

Pick, Arnold (1851–1924), Czechoslovakian psychiatrist and neurologist. Pick is best known for his description in 1892 of an atrophy of the cerebral cortex, now known as Pick's disease, and for his 1913 description of agrammatism.
